GSSA Rebrand

The challenge

The GSSA Committee approached me to rebrand their old & outdated branding & logo. They wanted their new branding to reflect the modern times but also keep some of its heritage as well. However there were restrictions of using the colour red & purple. As these colours were already being used in the RMIT branding. The GSSA also lacked a single minded proposition and messaging which made their target audience confused about what they actually did or provided them.

The solution

After the initial discovery phase & many different brand styleframes. The direction of going for a simplistic modern look with complementary geometric patterns that reference back to some old school geospatial equipment was chosen. Multiple coloured logos were also decided upon so that it can represent the different fields of geospatial science as the GSSA governs all of them.

The marketing and messaging become more succinct and cohesive with what benefits the GSSA actually provided for their members like academic helping and up skilling lessons, industry meet and greet event nights or just general Q&A sessions about the Geospatial course outline currently offered at RMIT
